Pre-Paid Funeral Plans
What is a Funeral Plan?
A funeral plan is a method of taking care of funeral expenses and arrangements in advance. It is your chance to protect those closest to you from the stress and expense of arranging your funeral.
Financial Advantages of a Funeral Plan
More people are turning to pre-paid plans as the cost of dealing with a death is rising much faster than the cost of living. The BBC reported recently that the average cost of a funeral had risen 4% in the last year up to £3,700. If flowers, a reception or a headstone are added then the average cost rises to around £6,000. Funding support for the low paid is only likely to cover a fraction of this amount. This means that many families not only have the loss of a loved one to come to terms with but they also face unforeseen bills.
Our funeral plan in association with a leading funeral plan provider pre-pays your funeral director’s fees at today’s prices. These fees will therefore be unaffected by any future price rises. In addition to this, there is also an allowance for disbursements included from the outset, a figure which is index linked, enabling the allowance to increase annually to help it combat funeral inflation. Disbursements will include fees for the cemetery, crematorium, doctors’ certificates or clergy for example.
A plan can also offer a far better financial option than putting money into a savings account. These accounts currently suffer from an extremely low interest rate and, with the cost of funerals soaring, these monies set aside would effectively be losing value.
How the Pre-Paid Plan works
Making a decision to take out a pre-paid plan will also allow you to choose where you would want the service to be held, whether you would like to be buried or cremated and the type of coffin for example. The plan will be stored and put in place upon death. We can offer you four different options so you can choose the funeral arrangement you would prefer and can afford, whether it is something simple or something elaborate.
